A Case of Gliomatosis Cerebri



Abstract
A cases of gliomatosis cerebri in a 61-year-old woman is reported. She was admitted to our hospital in 1992 with a 2-year history of dementia, left-sided hemiparesis, and headache. A brain computerized tomography(CT) scan showed a round isodense
area on
right temporo-parieto-occipital region. Magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) using T2 weighed image(WI) revealed the ill-defined low signal with bright high signal on affected region. Right temporal cranitomy and subtotal tumor removal were performed.
The
microscopic finding showed increased in cellulrarity of mature astrocytic neuroglial cells and undifferentiated neuruoglial cells. The clinical presentation, radiological finding pathology and response to radiation are described with review of
literature.
